Welcome to Apex QueenslandWelcome to the 2006-2007 Apex year, and the second half of Apex’s 75th Anniversary year – that’s right, it’s not over yet and there is still plenty of time for your club to play its part in this 75th Anniversary year. Congratulations to all the members who have taken on executive positions in clubs for the next twelve months. You certainly have an exciting year ahead of you, and the opportunity to learn more about Apex and the community you serve, as well as leading your team through a year of citizenship, service, fellowship and fun. I am very pleased to be the leader of a fantastic State Board for this year. You have chosen as your District Governors a bunch of very keen and enthusiastic Apexians and to compliment them we have an Executive and Board of experienced members very keen to help you out. If you are finding the going tough, or need advice on any matter, we are here to lend a hand – Help is only a phone call away. This years Board will focus on communication and promotion of Apex in Queensland. It is true that many of our clubs are suffering due to lack of quality membership and numbers are very hard to come by. State Board will concentrate on the following goals to ensure Apex moves forward in Queensland during the coming year and beyond. Goals for the 2006-2007 Year: * Redevelop STS and make it more appropriate for 2007 * Initiate a Youth based Membership drive * Increase the level of communication to all clubs * Continue to raise the profile of Apex within Queensland * Encourage State Board visits to Clubs * Further Develop relationship with Fiji Apex With the assistance of a focussed Board, I hope to deliver a positive year for Apex in Queensland.
